Holland Hospital

Saturday, October 29th 10 am – 2 pm

Proper disposal of medications, and sharps is not only good for the environment, but it provides a safe method to remove these items from your home. Community Mental Health of Ottawa County, Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital and Holland Hospital are partnering with Michigan OPEN, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, and the Holland Police Department to host a medication takeback event on Saturday, October 29th from 10 am - 2 pm.

This will be a drive thru event to ensure the safety of everyone participating. Please bring any unused or expired medications and sharps to be properly disposed of. We will be offering medication lock boxes as well as Narcan training/distribution for those who are interested.

Did you know?

  • Every 10 minutes a child visits the emergency room for medication poisoning
  • 5 million people 12 years and older misused opioids in the last year
  • 3 in 5 teens say prescription pain medication is easy to get from their parents’ medicine cabinet

Community medication takeback events provide a safe process for disposing of unused medications and used needles while protecting our communities, children, and environment.

Please, remove the risk from your home and bring your unused medications, used needles, and vapes to Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital at: 8333 Felch St, Zeeland, MI 49464 or Holland Hospital at 602 Michigan Ave, Holland, MI 49423 Saturday, October 29th, 10 am – 2pm.
