The Kent County Health Department and the Ottawa County Department of Public Health are reconciling the Public Health Order of August 6, 2021 regarding K-12 school quarantine and isolation to reflect recent updates made by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Neither KCHD or OCDPH will be making anyone available for further questions from the media this evening.

Kent County Health Department and Ottawa County Department of Public Health Reconcile Public Health Order to Match State and Federal Guidelines

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Jan. 11, 2022) – The Kent and Ottawa County administrative health officers have reconciled the public health order of August 6, 2021 to reflect the latest COVID-19 guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).  

This order applies to the K-12 setting and includes pre-schools and daycares as well as all higher education institutions.

The Kent County Health Department and the Ottawa County Department of Public Health strongly recommend that schools implement policies that follow the CDC guidance which can be found here. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/schools-childcare/k-12-guidance.html
