Ottawa County’s unemployment rate increasing slightly

The preliminary unemployment rates for December 2020 were released recently by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. Ottawa County’s unemployment rate has decreased from a high of 20.9% in April to 3.7% in December. However, since November, the unemployment rate has increased statewide and in Ottawa County by 0.5 percentage points. This is currently the third-lowest unemployment rate in Michigan, with rates ranging from 12.6% in Mackinac County to 3.6% in Washtenaw County.
