Ottawa County Shifts to Appointment-Only Services

Ottawa County Suspends Walk-In Services

To reduce the spread COVID-19, Ottawa County government offices are requiring appointments for services until further notice.

Ottawa County has been balancing its responsibility of providing public services alongside its obligations of preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the community and protecting the health of residents. Effective 8AM on Tuesday, November 17, Ottawa County will require appointments for in-person transactions. Visit miOttawa.org/closures to learn how to access appointments. In addition, many services can be conducted online, by phone, via email or other means. A secure drop box is available outside the Fillmore Administration Building at 12220 Fillmore Street in West Olive. The box is located on the lower level of the building near the entrance of the Treasurer’s office.

"Locally, we have seen a marked increase in COVID-19 cases, positivity rates, hospitalizations and deaths. A move to appointment based services and minimizing in-person transactions is important to keep the County workforce healthy, safe and able to respond to community needs, including emergencies," said Shannon Felgner, Ottawa County Communications Manager. "We are still staffed and serving residents. We have some employees working from home, other offices are staggering shifts or taking other steps to continue working safely."

Ottawa County will evaluate this decision regularly and update our operations as necessary.
