Initial public input events for the Ottawa Sands Master Plan have now been completed, as well as natural features inventory and analysis of plant communities, wetlands, and herpetology. You can view this information here.

Based on this input, our consultant has developed concepts and options for park development that will be presented at an open house event, please join us!

Saturday, October 3, 2020  2-4 pm

Coast Guard Park Picnic Shelter

The picnic shelter is located on the Northeast side of the park. If you’ll be joining us, please wear a mask and maintain appropriate social distance. The event is outdoors, please dress accordingly.


Funding for the Ottawa Sands Master Plan

Financial assistance for the Ottawa Sands Master Plan was provided, in part, by the Coastal Management Program, Water Resources Division, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, under the National Coastal Zone Management program, through a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce. This grant leveraged funds from the Parks & Recreation millage.
