#OttawaCounts in the 2020 U.S. Census

The 2020 U.S. census count is underway – this once-a-decade headcount informs how approximately $675 billion in funding for more than 100 federal programs are distributed. For Michiganders, this amounts to about $1,800 per person, per year. These funds are used for everyday programs and resources we all rely on, including education; health care and emergency services; redistricting and representation; bridges and roads; and so much more. By filling out the Census, you’re supporting Ottawa County families and communities. The census can be completed online at my2020census.gov; by phone at 844.330.2020; or by mail.

For more information, visit miottawa.org/census. Our site features valuable facts, how-tos and frequently asked questions explaining the purpose and benefits of the decennial census. Additionally, handouts in both English and Spanish are available for download for individuals, local units and other community stakeholders to utilize during census collection time.

With an accurate census, #OttawaCounts!
