BACKGROUND: The Ottawa County Road Commission will be working on a culvert replacement project on 40th Avenue south of Port Sheldon Street beginning Monday, Aug. 12.
As a result of this work, 40th Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Port Sheldon and Van Buren streets through Aug. 15 (est.).
The posted detour for this work will take Port Sheldon Street/48th Avenue/Van Buren Street.

WHEN: August 12-20, 2019
BACKGROUND: The Ottawa County Road Commission will be working on a culvert replacement project on 64th Avenue between Taft and Roosevelt streets in Polkton Township beginning Monday, Aug. 12.
As a result of this work, 64th Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Roosevelt and Taft through Aug. 20 (est.).
The posted detour for this work will take Roosevelt Street/68th Avenue/Wilson Street. Emergency services can reach address 17864 64th Ave. from the south and Pine Point Court from the north.

72nd Ave. north of Chicago Drive to close Aug. 12 in Zeeland Twp.
72nd Avenue north of Chicago Drive in Zeeland Township will close for intersection modification work beginning Monday, Aug. 12.
The Michigan Department of Transportation project is expected to wrap up by the end of August. In addition to improvements to the intersection of 72nd and Chicago Drive, CSX will also be making improvements to the crossing at 72nd/Chicago Drive.
As a result of the work, 72nd Avenue will be closed from Chicago Drive to Quincy Street. The detour will be Chicago Drive/80th Avenue/Quincy Street.

2019 cape seal program work continues Tuesday, Aug. 13
Work on the Ottawa County Road Commission's 2019 cape seal program is scheduled to continue beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Contractors are scheduled to begin working on the microsurfacing portion of the project on 96th Avenue, New Holland Street and James Street. Crews chip sealed these streets this past week in advance of the microsurface.
Cape seal is one of our preventative maintenance options that we utilize here at the OCRC. The cape seal process involves a combination of a layer of seal coat without a fog sealant that is covered by a layer of micro surfacing. This treatment can extend the road service life 5-7 years.
