Some big news came out of Lansing earlier this week regarding the labor impasse that has affected several of our construction projects.
Gov. Rick Snyder on Thursday announced that the contractors’ association (MITA) and operating engineers’ union (OE324) had agreed to continue working without a contract through the 2018 construction season.
We will share updates on the status of the impacted road projects once we have additional information.
The affected projects in Ottawa County were:
- Cottonwood Drive — Reconstruction work between Baldwin and Bauer in Georgetown Township.

James Street — Resurfacing between U.S. 31 and Chicago Drive in Holland Township.

Osborn/Bass/Warner — Resurfacing between 68th Avenue and 104th Avenue in Allendale and Robinson townships.

Note: Resurfacing does not close the road. It will remain open to through traffic, with temporary lane closures.
