Road Commission Construction Update: Aug. 10, 2018

Road Resurfacing:

Resurfacing does not close the road, it will remain open to through traffic, with lane closures.

Cottonwood Dr. Reconstruction Update:

• Construction crews continue to work on curb and gutter installation.
• Water main is being installed on the east side of Cottonwood Drive. This work should continue for the next several weeks.
• Installation of cross tile just north of Village Lane is expected to be the week of Aug. 20.
• Reminder: Cottonwood Drive is closed from Baldwin to north of Bauer Road.
• Detour Route: Baldwin Street to 20th Avenue to Bauer Road to 24th Avenue to Fillmore Street.
• Residents and businesses needing access to Cottonwood north of Village Lane are asked to access via Bauer Road. Those who need access south of Village Lane are asked to access via Baldwin St.
• Estimated completion date of road project is late October.

Lincoln Street Update:

Lincoln Street, between U.S. 31 and 144th in Grand Haven Township, recently reopened to traffic after completion of permitted work in the road right-of-way. 

Though the road is reopened, our staff determined that there are some issues with the road's ride quality.

The contractors involved in the project have been notified, and plan to address the quality concern.

Work is tentatively scheduled to take place the week of Monday, Aug. 13., and will involve the removal and replacement about 800 feet of the road surface on the east side of the project limits.

This is a great tool especially for those who may be traveling.

The Road Commission is not responsible for projects on the State Highway System (I, US, and M roads). Please contact MDOT for questions regarding those projects.
