Gov. Snyder appoints Judge Knoll to the Michigan Community Corrections Board

Gov. Rick Snyder appointed Judge Bradley Knoll of Ottawa County to the Michigan Community Corrections Board.

The 13-member board serves in an advisory capacity to the director of the Michigan Department of Corrections and makes suggestions to improve many aspects of community corrections programs throughout the state.

“I thank Judge Knoll for his commitment to improving community corrections programs in Michigan,” Snyder said.

Knoll was elected to Ottawa County's 58th District Court in 2002 and reelected in 2008 and 2014. He was appointed as chief judge of the 58th District Court by the Michigan Supreme Court. Knoll is an adjunct professor of criminology and political science at Grand Rapids Community College and a faculty member of the Michigan Judicial Institute. Knoll holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a law degree from the Detroit College of Law. He will represent district court judges and fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Beth Gibson.

Knoll will serve the remainder of a four-year term expiring March 31, 2021. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
