Ottawa County Honors Employees for Customer Service

Join us in congratulating Amy Brown and Kara Bostrom-Young from the 58th District Court and Jocelyn Garris from the Human Resources Office, who have been recognized as Ottawa County’s Outstanding Customer Service Award recipients for the fourth quarter of 2017. You can read the nominations which earned each recipient an award plus learn more about them at miOttawa.org.

“Amy truly cares for the citizens of Ottawa County which shows by her friendly smile and her effort to make a tough situation a little easier. We are all proud to work with an individual who treats everyone with utmost respect and cares about those around her. By receiving this Customer Service award, it shows her dedication to the customer and their needs,” said Jami Speet.

“When I think of a person who is a true representation of the Ottawa Way and the exemplary customer service the District Court strives to achieve, I think of Kara. Not only does Kara have a good understanding of her job requirements and the challenges that our clients present, she performs her role with grace, compassion and respect. The District Court is proud of Kara and her achievement in being recognized as a recipient of the County’s Outstanding Customer Service Award,” said Cindy Driver.

“Jocelyn represents what Ottawa County Customer Service is all about. She continuously goes above and beyond to help all of our customers —both internal and external. She is quick to greet those who come to the window or walk into our office with a warm smile and helping hand. Her patience, consistency and selflessness are admirable. Jocelyn is truly the glue that holds our office together and this customer service award could not be more deserved,” said Jake Vander Kolk.

Implemented in 2012, the Customer Service initiative is one of the County’s Four C’s, along with Communication, Cultural Intelligence and Creativity. Customers can nominate an Ottawa County employee for an Outstanding Customer Service Award at miOttawa.org.
