This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the event that lets neighbors help neighbors; that helps kids stay warm in the coldest months of the winter, that helps families provide heat and hot meals to their children and elderly.

Thirty years is a long time - so let's go all in! Let's go for multiples of 30 when we give, and multiples of 3 when we're signing up as a walking team! Bring 3 people from work - or 9 or 18 or 27! Or 30+ if you're Consumers Energy!

Share our FB posts and tag 3 people or organizations you think should participate at the Walk!

Ottawa County Community Action Agency operates throughout Ottawa County - even in your neighborhood!

This year's event will be held:

  • Saturday, February 10th, 8:30 AM
  • City On A Hill 100 Pine Street
  • Zeeland, MI 49464

Poster Contest Benefits From Lake Effect

Carrie Rodgers-O'Neal

Carrie Rodgers-O'Neal is a local artist and owner of Lake Effect Gallery in downtown Holland.

She is this year's judge for the Walk For Warmth poster contest! The contest is open to Ottawa County High School-aged students. This year at least four high schools are participating in the contest.

We can't wait to see the winning design!

The winning student gets a press release with the poster judge and teacher. The poster will be printed and distributed throughout Ottawa County promoting the event in February.

Serving Up In-Kind For The Event

Also Lemonjello's will being their best coffee and barista to the Walk and make sure people have the energy to get moving and stay warm!

American Red Cross

To prepare for the inevitable deep freeze the Red Cross of West Michigan will be on hand again with hot chocolate and bottled water from their mobile canteen!

schreur

We wouldn't know anything about this event if not for the poster contest and Schreur Printing - they are donating the printing of the poster for the event! Thanks Tim and Mary Jane!
