Each reporting unit has several roles it can use so ORS can contact you about reporting. A new and optional role called Other 3 is now available. You could use this for someone who wants to receive the newsletter, for example. Other 3 is meant for a contact person only, not for web users (those with access to the Employer Reporting website).
The roles called Other 1 and Other 2 have always been available. Now Other 3 is available as a contact option for Web Admins to add, if needed. If a contact or web user is already listed, there’s no need to add that person in a different role. For more information on employer contacts, see the Contacts section in the Reporting Instruction Manual.
In addition, this newsletter now goes to all contacts in every role. If you’re getting this newsletter for the first time, welcome and thank you for reading.
ORS has launched a new project to help clean up outstanding suspended record errors that impact more than 8,000 members. We’ve identified eight common errors and created a quick reference guide to make fixing them easier. Our team has emailed reporting units with suspended records to share this resource and provide support.
Until these errors are corrected and records are posted, employees’ miAccount information will not be accurate. This means they won’t be able to generate precise pension estimates, and they could miss out on potential market gains from contributions to their 401(k) or 457 accounts due to unreported or underreported compensation.
We know this work is important, and we’re committed to partnering with you to make these corrections. Together, we can ensure accurate reporting and do what’s best for our employers and members.

The ORS team had a great experience at the Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) Annual Conference in Grand Rapids. Our staff presented three sessions: one focused on audits, another on how employers can support their employees throughout their careers, and a lively open‑mic Q&A. Each session sparked thoughtful conversation and plenty of engagement.
The exhibition hall was just as productive, with many meaningful connections made at our booth. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with MSBO’s members and leaders, and we look forward to continuing our strong partnership with MSBO and our dedicated reporting unit staff.

As a reminder, please send a DTL4 termination for everyone, including people who have never had contributions reported on a DTL4.
ORS sends all DTL4 records to Voya to provide updated demographics, keeping them active in the Voya system. Sending a termination date notifies Voya the person is no longer with MPSERS.
