The new 2020-2021 Troy Resource Guide is now available here. The guide is filled with helpful information about doing business in Troy. In the current issue you can find demographic data, business profiles, business assistance information and an overview of community assets. |
Open for Business
With I-75 open to traffic for the winter months, and the expected closing of southbound I-75 in March (southbound traffic will be shifted to new northbound lanes), this would be a great time to emphasize that Troy remains open for business. Although doing business during major construction projects is always challenging, the City of Troy would like to remind both businesses and customers that the range of restaurants, retail shops and businesses offered by this community is second to none. It is for good reason that Troy is considered Michigan’s premier address for business, retail and commerce. Although road construction can be frustrating, please remember to support our local businesses. Troy is open for business! |

I-75 Reconstruction
The I-75 Modernization Project, from north of 13 Mile to north of Coolidge Highway will widen and reconstruct the pavement, interchanges and bridges. The project includes the addition of one lane in each direction by enclosing the median; drainage and aesthetic improvements; and noise walls where they meet Federal/State criteria. The project was opened to the “pre-construction” configuration in late 2019 after the northbound side was completed. A single northbound lane closure will remain in place from Big Beaver to Crooks to allow for work on a sound wall north of Wattles. All other lanes of mainline I-75 are to remain open until the project starts back up in March 2020. Various operations will continue over the winter months that do not impact mainline I-75 and may include sound wall construction, southbound tree clearing, slope restoration and drain work.
In March 2020, work on the southbound side is anticipated to begin and will require that all traffic be moved to the new pavement on the northbound side (2 lanes in each direction will be maintained on the northbound side of I-75). All lanes of I-75, from 13 Mile to Coolidge, are anticipated to be complete and open to traffic in late fall 2020. A landscaping and tree planting phase will follow construction in 2021.
