The Troy Summer Concert Series is back! Boulan Park on Crooks Road between Big Beaver and Wattles Roads will be the backdrop for some fabulous music on select Thursdays this summer. Stay after work, grab a bite to eat, and listen to music from 6:30-8:30pm. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and relax with friends as a variety of music fills the air. Food will be available from food trucks starting at 5:30 pm and there are plenty of picnic tables. Food trucks are subject to change.
The series is sponsored by Beaumont Hospital.

July 27: Paul King & the Rhythm Society Orchestra
with General Dogs Food Truck & Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt
The Rhythm Society Orchestra is an award-winning big band that specializes in re-creating the authentic sounds of the big band era. Swing music of the 1930s and 1940s comes to life with a good helping of later Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and Bobby Darin. Enjoy pop music when swing was king.
August 10: Devin Scillian & Arizona Son
with General Dogs Food Truck & Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt
Winner of the prestigious Detroit Music Award for Best Country Performer, Devin Scillian and his band, Arizona Son have been entertaining audiences with their country, western, and folk music style for more than a decade. Devin’s original songs have led to three albums full of favorites here, as well as on the country charts in Europe.
August 17: Big Ray and the Motor City Kings (Rescheduled from July 13)
with General Dogs Food Truck & Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt
A Detroit Area musical group performing blues, classic rock, soul, and Motown. Led by Big Ray Haywood’s larger than life vocals and saxophone playing, their act offers an energetic and danceable repertoire supported by guitar, keyboard, and saxophone soloists.
August 24: Thornetta Davis
with General Dogs Food Truck & Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt
Detroit's Queen of the Blues, multi-talented native Detroiter, Thornetta Davis has reigned over Michigan's most attended events for nearly 30 years. This singer-songwriter, recording artist and winner of over 30 Detroit Music Awards has recorded with legends Bob Seger and Kid Rock and has electrified audiences worldwide and throughout the United States. Thornetta’s new CD “Honest Woman” is Nominated for two 2017 Blues Foundation “Blues Music Awards” and is the recent winner of eight 2017 Detroit Music Awards.
“We are so excited to bring back the Troy Summer Concert Series at Boulan Park again this summer,” Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart said. “We appreciate the support of our concert series sponsor, Beaumont Hospital, and invite everyone to come out for some fantastic music this summer at one of Troy’s largest parks. The concert series is yet another activity for people of all ages to enjoy this summer along with other great programs at our Library, Community Center, Historic Village, and Nature Center.”
