East Lansing Film Festival
is seeking candidates to become members of the ELFF Board of Directors. Looking for people who have a strong connection to the arts, cinema and the community as well as a commitment to raising money for the film festival organization. ELFF is the largest film festival and the second oldest in Michigan having celebrated 16 years in 2013. 

Requirements:

  • Meet 3 times per year. Must attend at least one of those meetings.
  • Be willing to help raise funds throughout the year and find new sponsors who can contribute financially or in-kind. Minimum of $1,000. This amount can also be a contribution.
  • Have a strategic view of how to elevate ELFF financially and push the film festival to the next level as a premier arts organization in Michigan.

Send a letter explaining why you are interested in becoming a board member; what you have to contribute to making ELFF a more significant arts organization; and a resume (optional). Please send it to susanwoods@elff.com.

Motion Picture Institute 16th Annual January Open Casting Call & Auditions
Auditions will be held from Noon - 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. Over 60 directors will be casting for students films. All ages and experience levels are welcome. East Lansing Film Festival's 
Five Days/Five Minutes Film Contest
The contest will run from 
6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 to 
6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4
Filmmakers come together to write, shoot, edit, and premiere an original 5 to 7 minute film in 5 days or 120 hours. At the start of the contest, teams are given the same three elements (a prop, a character and a line of dialogue) that they must incorporate into their finished film. Teams can choose a genre - Horror, Drama, Comedy or Fantasy. Finished films that meet the deadline are judged on how well they incorporate the elements.
