Approximately 200 volunteers are needed to assist with parking, treat bag distribution and act as marshmallow marshals to help organize participants. More than 5,000 are expected to attend the event. Volunteers need to arrive by 8:30 a.m. and will be done by approximately 11:30 a.m. All volunteers will receive refreshments and a free waterpark pass for the 2013 season! The Marshmallow Drop is a great opportunity for teens to earn community service hours or for special interest groups (Optimist, Scouts, etc.) to get involved with the community. Volunteers under 16 years require a parent or designated adult on site during the event.
Volunteers and staff will park at Berkley Parks and Recreation (at 2400 Robina in Berkley). An Oakland County Parks and Recreation van will shuttle volunteers to the check-in point and provide return service to their vehicles after the conclusion of the event. The event is held rain or shine.
