Collect native seeds at Highland Oaks County Park

Join in plant restoration

Join the Oakland County Parks Natural Resources Stewardship staff at the Native Seed Collection Workday, Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Highland Oaks County Park. Learn to identify native prairie plants in fall and harvest native seed from restoration areas. This is a restoration effort aimed at about ecological restoration efforts aimed at returning native plants to the park.

Seed collection materials and light refreshments provided. Wear sturdy shoes and long pants and sleeves. Expect to walk up to one mile during the workshop. Meet in the parking lot on Milford Road.
