Veterinarian Technician
Performs professional veterinary work under the supervision of a Veterinarian to maintain the health and safety of animals. Examines all animals and their specimen for disease/illness and assesses treatment thereof. May perform euthanasia on animals as directed by the Veterinarian. Assists the Veterinarian in spaying and neutering of animals. Performs laboratory tests, including urinalysis, blood and fecal examinations.
Prepares animal diets and medication as prescribed by the Veterinarian. Works closely with the Oakland County Health Department with regulations regarding animal control. Advises general public on care for domesticated animals. Maintains data and charts for all animals seen at clinic. Evaluates all incoming animals for disease and temperament and logs information on chart for review of Veterinarian.
