Join us for nature education programming

Looking for things to do this summer? Wint Nature Center offers a variety of programs for children, adults and families that focus on nature exploration and wellness opportunities. From plants and animals to outdoor journaling and nature walks, there is plenty for all ages to enjoy and discover. Join our naturalists and others in the community for these educational and wellness programs:

  • During the Early Childhood Hour Out (ECHO) program, parents, grandparents, nannies and caregivers are invited to bring their little ones to the nature center for a caregiver-guided hour of activities, fun and friendship with local families on Thursdays, July 11, 18 and 25 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Participate in a caregiver-led activity provided by nature center staff and enjoy coffee, tea and conversation with other caregivers while strengthening community connections. This program is free and no preregistration is necessary, although park entry fee applies for those without a vehicle permit. Caregivers must supervise children at all times. Siblings are welcome. Call 248-625-6473 for more information
  • Children ages 3-6 can enjoy nature fun as they increase their love for the outdoors during the Puddle Jumpers program from 10:30-11:30 a.m. July 12. A naturalist will engage children with a story, nature talk and a related hands-on activity. Each child will make a craft to take home. July’s theme is Into the Forest. Cost is $5/child
  • Call to schedule a free naturalist-guided nature hike during A Walk In the Woods from 10-10:45 a.m. July 26. Participants will learn about seasonal topics while getting exercise and enjoying the great outdoors. Please, no pets. Park entry fee applies
  • Join us in the field to discover the beauty of nature while learning about local endangered plant and animal species from 1-2:30 p.m. July 28. Learn how to practice appreciation of nature through nature journaling and explore how to be an advocate for wildlife and nature conservation efforts. Cost is $5/person
