Restore in the Outdoors celebrates health, wellness opportunities at Oakland County Parks

Fishing, fitness classes, hikes and crafts are among free health and wellness opportunities Oakland County Parks will offer during Restore in the Outdoors May 4.

During this special day, park entry is free at Oakland County Parks and guests will have access to trailsdog parks, playgrounds and fishing spots.

In addition, free programming will be offered at Pontiac Oaks County Park in Pontiac and Red Oaks Nature Center in Madison Heights. The schedule includes:

  • Pontiac Oaks, 10 a.m.-noon
    • Fishing at the pier with free equipment available for guests to use
    • Bird hikes led by parks naturalists
    • Happy Little Rocks arts and crafts station
    • Beginner Vinyasa Flow Yoga from 10:15-11 a.m., presented by Studio 8 Fitness
    • Yin meditation from 11:15 a.m.-noon, presented by Studio 8 Fitness
  • Red Oaks Nature Center, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
    • Bird hikes from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m.
    • Forest Bathing from 1-2:30 p.m.; preregister by calling 248-858-0916 weekdays

Hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset, or as posted at the park.
