Join us at Catalpa Oaks County Park for marshmallows, prizes and outdoor fun
Watch in amazement as 15,000 fluffy marshmallows fall from the sky during Oakland County Parks Great Marshmallow Drop beginning at 10 a.m. March 29 at Catalpa Oaks County Park in Southfield.
A helicopter will drop the marshmallows to the ground then participants only need to collect one marshmallow to exchange for a treat bag at the prize tent during this free event.
Drops will be done by age group: Ages 4 and younger; ages 5-7; and ages 8-12. A drop for individuals with disabilities of all ages will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Henry Ford Health – GoHealth Urgent Care, Credit Union Advantage and ITC are sponsors of this year's Great Marshmallow Drop. Catalpa Oaks County Park is located at 27725 Greenfield Road in Southfield.
Catalpa Oaks County Park
Catalpa Oaks preserves 24 acres of green space in Southfield adjacent to the South Oakland Health Department. The park is home of the Annual Great Marshmallow Drop, a spring event drawing 5,000+ participants to watch 15,000 marshmallows drop from a helicopter. Catalpa Oaks features one youth and four large soccer fields and playgrounds, including a universally-accessible playscape and swings for all abilities. A .8-mile aggregate perimeter pathway around the park provides a walking and running loop. The Vincent Gregory Pavilion offers picnic table seating for 100 people. Modern restrooms are on site and open daily April through October.
