Marshmallow madness coming to Catalpa Oaks
Experience pure joy and delight as fluffy marshmallows fall from the sky during the Great Marshmallow Drop hosted by Oakland County Parks beginning at 10 a.m. March 29 at Catalpa Oaks County Park in Southfield.
See 15,000 marshmallows fall from a helicopter. Participants only need to collect one marshmallow to exchange for a treat bag at the prize tent during this free event.
Drops will be done by age group: Ages 4 and younger; ages 5-7; and ages 8-12. A drop for individuals with disabilities of all ages will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Henry Ford Health – GoHealth Urgent Care, Credit Union Advantage and ITC are sponsors of this year's Great Marshmallow Drop. Catalpa Oaks County Park is located at 27725 Greenfield Road in Southfield.
Catalpa Oaks County Park
Catalpa Oaks preserves 24 acres of green space in Southfield adjacent to the South Oakland Health Department. It features one youth and four large soccer fields and playgrounds, including a universally-accessible playscape and swings for all abilities. A .8-mile aggregate perimeter pathway around the park provides a walking and running loop. The Vincent Gregory Pavilion offers picnic table seating for 100 people. Modern restrooms are on site and open daily April through October.
