red oaks waterpark

Oakland County Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that both Red Oaks Waterpark and Waterford Oaks Waterpark will open for the 2022 season with all attractions in full operation.

Red Oaks Waterpark is set to open Saturday, June 25. It was open last year, but the popular River Ride attraction was shuttered due to lack of staff.

Waterford Oaks Waterpark will re-open Sunday, June 26 after a two-year hiatus due COVID-19 in 2020 and staffing shortages in 2021.

However, as the nationwide lifeguard staffing shortage continues, both waterparks will have modified hours and operation dates. Red Oaks Waterpark will be open from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Waterford Oaks Waterpark will open its gates from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Both waterparks will be closed on Wednesdays.

The modified operations will ensure that guests have safe, fun and quality experiences when visiting the waterparks.

Because of the change in schedule, only Waterford Oaks Waterpark will be open on the July 4 holiday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online at OaklandCountyParks.com up to three days prior to day of visit. Tickets can also be purchased on site during days the waterparks are open. Red Oaks Waterpark ticket prices are $22 regular rate; $18 Oakland County resident rate; and free for children ages 0-1. Waterford Oaks Waterpark ticket prices are $20 regular rate; $15 Oakland County resident rate; and free for children ages 0-1.

In the event that lifeguard staffing increases, OCPR may be able to adjust its operating schedule to open for additional days. Hiring will continue throughout summer. Learn more about waterpark jobs and hiring incentives at OaklandCountyParks.com.
