Oakland County, Michigan sent this bulletin at 04/15/2022 12:19 PM EDTThis email is being sent to VFC, Non-VFC and Covid-19 Providers in Oakland County, Michigan by the Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) Immunization Action Plan (IAP)

Hello Immunization Partners,
Please share the following information with your staff.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Division of Immunization, has had to change the process of printing the Vaccine Information Statements (VISs). Colored paper has been used to help guide our providers on associating the VISs with a color for ease of identification. Unfortunately, there is currently a national paper shortage, and this shortage has impacted the ability for MDHSS to print the VISs on colored paper for health systems, local health departments, and providers.
Going forward, new VISs will be printed on white paper. The titles of certain VISs will be highlighted in the color, or closely match the color, that was used on former colored full sheet VISs. Please see the attached example.
The VISs that are currently printed on white paper will continue to be printed on white paper. The VISs that will move to the new format and be printed on white paper with the colored title are the following VISs:
- Chickenpox
- DTaP
- HPV
- Polio
- Tdap
This process will be in effect for at least a year. Once the shortage of paper is over, we will look to resume the printing of the VISs on colored paper.
We appreciate your understanding during this transition. If you have any questions about the changes to the VISs, please reach out to us at: checcimms@michigan.gov.
Thank-you for all you do to help protect Michiganders against vaccine preventable diseases.
