Bi-Weekly Executive Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Earlier this week, I was proud to announce the Oakland Together 40 under 40 Class of 2022.

This is a group of exceptional individuals who are not only successful in their careers, but who also have demonstrated a passion for public service and a dedication to their communities.

We had such an impressive group of people who applied for this year’s class and the recipients include leaders and entrepreneurs, activists and educators. They embody the Oakland Together message that encompasses talent, skill and excellence, coupled with working collaboratively to improve the quality of life for their neighbors and families, friends and strangers alike.

The class reflects the rich and diverse populations that make up the fabric of every vital and vibrant corner of Oakland County.

As I looked at the list of extraordinary professionals, I was struck by the wide range of careers and interests. There are pioneering engineers and historic curators, trail managers and community engagement specialists, teachers and first responders.

This program is not just a resume builder or a momentary recognition of talent. This is a deep and talented pool of leaders who have expertise and creativity and innovative ideas that we intend to tap into.

40 under 40

This class help expand our go-to list of experts when we’re looking for ways to improve our service, start new programs and expand support for our residents and businesses.

I know you’re going to being hearing a lot from this class in the future and I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of them a lot better.

Ukraine sign

Stand with Ukraine

#StandwithUkraine became the message for Oakland County last week after the invasion of the country by Russian forces.

Michigan is home to more than 46,000 Ukrainian-Americans, ranking the state as fourth in the United States.

“They are our neighbors, co-workers and friends, and a vibrant part of our communities,” said Coulter. “I stand with Ukraine.”
