Get ready for a full season of adventure, fun at Holly Oaks ORV Park beginning this weekend
Holly Oaks ORV Park will open for the 2021 season on Saturday, April 10. The park welcomes full-size vehicles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles to traverse its thrilling and challenging course, formed from previous mining and gravel site operations.
Riders will be challenged by features like 4x4 trails, single track trails for motorcycles, steep hills, water crossings, rock crawls and other challenge elements. Mt. Magna, a 9,000-square-foot peak designed to replicate the experience of popular, massive rock formations in Moab, Utah, is a signature feature made possible through a donation from Magna Powertrain in Troy.
In April, Holly Oaks ORV Park will be open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Fridays will be added to the schedule beginning April 30, when the park will be open from 2-8 p.m. A complete park riding hours schedule is posted at OaklandCountyParks.com.
All vehicles will be required to have a dune-style flag this year. For details on flag requirements and a list of informational items riders need to know before visiting the park, click here.
Tickets for each day can be purchased online starting at 9 p.m. the night before. Buying a ticket online at OaklandCountyParks.com is highly recommended. Online daily entry tickets are $15 per vehicle. On-site sales of daily vehicle passes are $20 per vehicle. In addition to the daily entrance fee, a current annual Michigan Department of Natural Resources ORV license ($26.25) and trail permit ($10) are required to enter the park. ORV licenses and trail permits can be purchased online at MDNR-eLicense.com or in person at a number of DNR license agents and dealers in/around Oakland County. Holly Oaks ORV Park
The 106-acre Holly Oaks ORV Park is a joint State-County project, operated by Oakland County Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources via a 20-year operating agreement (with a 10-year renewal). The park, consisting of former and active sand and gravel mines, is located off I-75 (at Grange Hall) and Dixie Highway across from Groveland Oaks County Park and Campground. Additional acres will come online as mining is completed on the remaining property with the full 235 acres expected to be operational by 2023.
