Pontiac, Michigan - Data released today about positive COVID-19 cases in Oakland County has caused some misinterpretation. The data make it seem that Oakland County had a one-day increase of more than 300 positive COVID-19 cases. That is not factual.
Late Thursday, a lab that had not been reporting positive cases released 204 positive COVID-19 case results for Oakland County all at once. These cases stretch back to Aug. 11, 2020. The distribution of these cases over the past four weeks is fairly even each day with a few exceptions.
