Did you know that Highland Oaks County park is home to a large beaver population and also the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake? Or that the railroad tracks on the western border of Highland Oaks were originally owned by the Flint and Pere Marquette Railroad?

Highland Oaks County Park

Located within the Shiawassee River headwaters, Highland Oaks County Park preserves sensitive habitat while providing recreation experiences. The park’s 302 acres of rolling hills, wetlands and old pastures offers 2.5 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, geocaching and cross-country skiing, as well as fishing from an accessible floating dock. Archery deer hunting is allowed in designated areas. Equestrian trailer parking is on North Milford Road, ½ mile north of White Lake Road. A second parking lot is located off Milford Road.
