Disappearing ponds at Waterford Oaks County Park?

Learn about vernal ponds during an informative one-mile walk-and-talk on June 9 from 7-8 p.m. at Waterford Oaks County Park. These special bodies of water only appear during certain times of the year (usually springtime) and are home to a variety of interesting creatures whose life cycles alternate between wet and dry conditions.

Part of the TrailBlazer Waking Series, this weekly program offers an opportunity to learn about the Oakland County Parks while getting in your steps. Walking is great exercise and a good way to boost circulation, reduce stress and strengthen muscles. Walkers should bring bug spray and water.

So that we can maintain appropriate social distancing, you must RSVP for this free program by texting or calling 248-343-6287. This is a free program; vehicle permits are not required. Meet in the Paradise Peninsula parking lot. A park map is available online at OaklandCountyParks.com.
