Explore ecology at Rose Oaks County Park
Make plans to head out to Rose Oaks County Park as part of the TrailBlazer Walking Series. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, walkers will gather for a one-mile hike led by Oakland County Parks and Recreation staff.
During the hike, participants will see how glaciers shaped the ecology at the park. Meet at the Buckhorn Lake Road entrance, 10501 Buckhorn Lake Road, Holly.
No registration is required. TrailBlazer programs are free, but an annual vehicle permit or daily park pass is required for park entry.
Walkers are urged to bring bug spray and a refillable water bottle.
For more information, contact the South Parks Office at 248-424-7081.
It’s "Game On" at Oakland County Parks and Recreation as we celebrate National Park and Recreation Month throughout July.
Rose Oaks County Park
Several glacial lakes within Rose Oaks County Park provide contrast to the gently rolling open meadows and wooded uplands. This 640-acre undeveloped park is a favorite of equestrians who explore its five miles of trails including accessible boardwalks and floating docks, which are also shared by hikers, cyclists, geocachers and cross-country skiers. Fishing is permitted and non-motorized boats and electric-motor boats are allowed; carry-in only. General parking on Buckhorn Lake Road; equestrian parking at the Fish Lake Road lot.
