Join us for family activities July 20 at the market

Oakland County Farmers Market will be bustling with activity on Saturday, July 20 during Healthy Oakland Partnership's Family Market Day.

From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., families can enjoy free yoga and martial arts fitness demonstrations, inflatable bouncers (socks required), crafts, prize drawings and other activities.

Families can also connect with local businesses and organizations in the community tent. Attending are: Waterford Oaks BMX, Oakland County Parks and Recreation, Elite Sportsplex, MSUE Master Gardeners, Oakland Conservation District, MSUE Health & Nutrition, Oakland County Health Division, Ennis Center for Children, Waterford Pool & Fitness Center, National Kidney Foundation, Police Athletic League, Studio 8 Fitness, Fight Like a Warrior, Oakland County WIC Office and more.

Michigan State University Extension - Health & Nutrition will host a program on ideas for healthy lunches; and children can plant a flower bulb and learn how to care for it courtesy of the Michigan State University Extension - Master Gardener Program. Both these programs are sponsored by Genisys Credit Union.

In addition, eligible participants will receive a $5 coupon for the purchase of locally grown produce with a qualifying SNAP/EBT purchase and WIC Project Fresh coupons will be available for qualifying WIC clients.

Healthy Oakland Partnership’s Family Market Day is free and open to the public.

It’s "Game On" at Oakland County Parks and Recreation as we celebrate National Park and Recreation Month throughout July.
