Friendship Circle Pathfinders Group Visit Tollgate

Friendship Circle Pathfinders Group Visits Tollgate!

Everyone was enjoying the beautiful spring weather on Sunday, April 7 when the Friendship Circle Pathfinders group visited Tollgate farm.

This very inquisitive and energetic group of teens was able to get up close and personal to the farm animals; including lambs, bunnies, chickens, goats, sheep and Sesame the pony. The students capped off their visit planting sunflower seeds in ice cream cones to take home and nurture through the spring and plant outside when the cold weather is gone for good!

Congrats to our new 4-H Beekeepers!

Congrats to our new 4-H Beekeepers!

Congrats to 4-Hers Shane Kenyon and Everett “Wil” Allen for receiving SEMBA https://www.sembabees.org/ beekeeping scholarships including the tuition for the beginner beekeeping school, bees, start-up equipment and one year SEMBA membership!

The scholarship committee was so impressed with the enthusiasm and support of another applicant, John Peters, they extended a partial scholarship for the beginner beekeeping school.  Upon acceptance, John has been working hard on raising money to pay for the remaining costs.

All three of our new beekeepers have been very busy learning all about bees at MSU Tollgate Farm and even constructing their own bee hives.
