2019 Financial Literacy Art Contest Awards

The Financial Literacy Art Contest Awards Ceremony will be held on May 3, 2019 at The Strand Theatre For The Performing of Arts in Pontiac at 5 p.m. 

It is thanks to the continuous and generous support of Flagstar Bank, in conjunction with Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency and Oakland Schools that this contest has been significantly enhanced. Click here to view a gallery of the students' work for 2019 as well as prior years.

Rock 'N' Arts Musical Concert in Pontiac

In promoting financial literacy and providing an exciting additional element to the Pontiac Arts Crawl, Accent Pontiac will proudly host with partner Funding the Future a family-friendly musical concert "Rock 'N' Arts" on Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Flagstar Strand Theatre.

The concert will feature an original student composition using art pieces created by Pontiac students for the Andy Meisner Financial Literacy Multimedia Art Contest as relatable inspiration.

Tickets – $10 reserved seats. All ages welcome. All proceeds will go towards furthering the mission of Accent Pontiac and Funding the Future. For more information, please call (248) 847-3420.

Ribbon Cutting of ERAE Automotive’s New Plant in Pontiac

Korea-based erae AMS USA Manufacturing, LLC, a subsidiary of erae AMS Co., Ltd., which provides driveline systems, chassis, and electronics systems and components, wants to lease a facility closer to its customer base in southeast Michigan.

Erae Automotive Systems will hire over 100 local workers to build automotive components in the Diamond Corridor of City of Pontiac thanks to the strong leadership of Mayor Deirdre Waterman, Pontiac's development team, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and Oakland County.

Farbman Group's C-Series Event on Business Succession Planning

We were happy to join Baker Tilly and Farbman Group for a Pontiac conversation on the Opportunity Zones on March 20. Following up is a C-Series Event on Business Succession Planning with Merrill Lynch hosted by Farbman Group on May 22, 2019 at Oakland Commons Conference Center at 9 a.m., with breakfast being served at 8:30 a.m.
