Oakland County Judge Changes

Effective January 1, 2019, Oakland County Circuit Court is welcoming two new judges, as well as saying goodbye to a long-sitting, respected jurist. Judge Wendy Potts is retiring, and we wish her well. This vacancy, as well as a new judicial seat, will be filled by Judges Jacob James Cunningham and Julie A. McDonald. Additionally, Judge Martha Anderson will take over the Business Court seat previously held by Judge Potts.
What this means to you, as an efiler, is that judicial reassignments of cases will affect all family division dockets, as well as the Business Court, and some civil and criminal, dockets. Please check Court Explorer beginning Jan 1, 2019 to determine if your cases have been affected.
