Corn dogs, carnival rides, competitions, contests and prehistoric creatures - oh my!

Experience ultimate thrills during the Oakland County Fair July 6-15 at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg.

Grandstand events, contests, food, Big Rock Amusements Carnival, fireworks, a free concert, livestock and youth competitions are fair favorites. Visitors can stroll through barns to see horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and rabbits and view newborn animals in the Miracle of Birth Barn.

This year, the fair will feature “Walking with Giants,” a dinosaur and dragon encounter. Presented by Prehistoric Adventures, the creatures are 8′ tall and 16′ long with incredibly realistic eye blinking, tail swooshing and a mighty roaring sound.

The fair will also feature Ron Diamond's Comedy Hypnotism Show, “Magic of the Mind" and Barnyard Express, a mobile educational farm center.

Grandstand Events include an off-road demolition derby, Figure Eight Races, Superkicker Rodeo, Night of Destruction, Knights of Valour jousting and Monster Trucks. Tickets for these events may be purchased at OakFair.org.

Fair parking, which includes admission, is $12/vehicle and $6/motorcycle. Presenting sponsor Oakland County Parks and Recreation offers free parking Friday, July 6 and Thursday, July 12 with a 2018 Oakland County Parks and Recreation Annual Vehicle Permit.

Friday, July 6 is Opening Day. Enjoy a free concert followed by a fireworks display.

Due to the fireworks, animals will join in on the fair fun on Saturday, July 7. No animals will be on the fairgrounds on Friday, July 6.
