The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has posted two Student Assistant positions to NEOGOV.
One position will help with the creation, verification, and clean-up of historic sites data in Argus database in anticipation of migration to new Geographic Information System (GIS) database system. This position will introduce a historic preservation student to SHPO’s data management policies and processes and help familiarize him/her with key preservation concepts. Student will attend and contribute to bi-weekly and intermittent GIS Team planning meetings with SHPO staff. Student will also engage in limited GIS work.
The other position will provide office support including data entry, file management, social media related work, research and writing for National Register of Historic Places, and other duties as assigned.
