Come meet Earl Poleski, the new MSHDA Executive Director! He will be speaking Monday Morning (May 1) at the Building Michigan Communities Conference, which will be May 1-3 at the Lansing Center, Lansing MI.
Earl Poleski of Jackson was named the Michigan State Housing Development Authority’s executive director on February 22, 2017. He previously served in the Michigan Legislature from 2011 to 2016, holding prominent roles as chair of the Financial Liabilities Reform Policy Committee and the General Government Appropriations Subcommittee. Earl also has been a certified public accountant since 1981, working as a sole-practitioner and partner with accounting firms providing individual and business accounting, tax and consulting services, while also representing clients to the IRS and state tax agencies.
Earl, whose family moved to Jackson in 1973, has been married to his high school sweetheart, Candy, since 1978. Candy works in information systems’ management at Consumers Energy in Jackson. Together, they have two grown sons, Earl Wayne and John, and two grandchildren. Earl and Candy are members of the First United Methodist Church, where he sings in the Chancel Choir. He also has led Jackson youth on several mission trips around the country, while teaching values such as service, hard work, honesty and responsibility.
In the summer, Earl and Candy enjoy trailering their boat, “Peace of Candy,” and traveling around our beautiful state.
