OSE Seeks Public Comment for Proposed Changes to the MARSE

The Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education (MDE, OSE) is proposing changes to the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE). The MARSE are the implementing rules for federal and state law for special education in Michigan.

As part of the state’s rule promulgation process, the MDE, OSE will accept public comment on the proposed changes until March 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

Please visit the OSE website (www.michigan.gov/ose-eis). Click on the link “Public Comment for Proposed Changes to the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE)” under the OSE Spotlight for information regarding:

  • The process for changing rules.
  • The proposed rule changes.
  • Details on how to provide public comment.
