Resource Allocation Review (RAR) Guidance for Continuous Improvement Facilitators
Thursday, October 16th, 2025, from 9:00am - noon
This engaging virtual workshop will delve into the Resource Allocation Review (RAR) process, equipping continuous improvement facilitators with the knowledge and tools to confidently support a district. We'll explore strategies for facilitating or supporting the facilitation of RAR, fostering a collaborative environment where you can share insights and best practices. Facilitators will also gain a brief overview of the periodic resource allocation review which will impact a limited number of districts, to provide an awareness of the process and support available to ISD/RESA consultants and districts. Participants are asked to preview the guidance documents and training videos prior to the training. The materials are found on Resources for Schools Identified for CSI, ATS, and TSI website.
Use the Registration link to secure your spot now!
If you are interested in a "refresher" on the MICIP platform, contact Dot Blackwell, MDE MICIP Lead, at Blackwelld1@michigan.gov, to set up a virtual training time.
What's New in the MiStrategy Bank?
Does your school or district have a MICIP data story and goal focused on student engagement? If so, explore the new Learning by Hearings strategy in the MiStrategy Bank for secondary Social Studies students. Developed by the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy, this civic education program offers free, ready-to-use classroom materials that provide students with experiential learning opportunities. Through high school content modules and after-school programming, students gain hands-on experience conducting fact-based, bipartisan oversight hearings while deepening their understanding of history, government, and current events, as well as building critical thinking and collaboration skills.
Is your district exploring adding college and career readiness to its MICIP portfolio? Be sure to check out the new global strategy, Michigan Career Development Model, in the MiStrategy Bank! This strategy was designed to help schools/districts incorporate college and career readiness initiatives into MICIP plans. The strategy includes information that supports CTE programming, dual enrollment options, and school improvement requirements. We are also excited to share the most recent version of the Michigan Career Development Model Guidebook created by MDE, which is included in the Resource Section of the strategy!
If you have questions about how to use the MSB, MDE strategies in the MSB or need a hand with creating your own strategy, please do not hesitate to contact Dave Carlson, who would be happy to assist you.
