2024-25 Annual Education Reports (AERs): Frequently Asked Questions, Important Changes and Revised Posting Deadlines

Embargoed 2024-25 Annual Education Reports (AERs) are now available to authorized MI School Data users at www.mischooldata.org. To review AERs, authorized individuals will need to login to MI School Data. Once logged in, authorized users can access AERs by navigating to the “K-12 Grade” menu, selecting the “School Accountability” submenu and then clicking “Annual Education Report.” The AER pages on MI School Data provide cover letter templates and allow local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools to download or capture the link to their required compiled school performance data from the most recent school year (2023-24). If used as designed, AERs meet specific federal requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in addition to state requirements for annual reporting to parents and communities.

Annual Education Reports contain detailed data on state-provided student assessment results, accountability results, educator qualification information, civil rights information, and the state results for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). Annual Education Reports generated from MI School Data are prepopulated with the required information for the state, each LEA, and each school.

Updated report cover letters and data generated from the MI School Data AER site may be posted according to the timeline below. In addition to publicly posting AERs, they must be communicated to parents and communities. A full set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding AER requirements and the process to prepare, post, and communicate about the Annual Education Report have been updated and provided on the MI School Data AER site.
