DID YOU KNOW?

The header in the MICIP platform now reads ASSESS – PLAN – IMPLEMENT – REPORT rather than beginning with DISCOVER. The dropdown under ASSESS will still include Data Story and Root Cause.

This change keeps the vocabulary in the MICIP platform consistent with the wording of the cycle.

Voices from the FieldMICIP Reflections

Consultants, managers and directors from the Offices of Educational Supports and Partnership Districts recently spent a day reviewing the MICIP mindset, process, and platform, and how they might more effectively and consistently support districts and schools.  At the end of the day they were asked to design bumper stickers that reflected some key takeaways.  Bumpers stickers included the following messages:

  • Consistency of Service
  • If…Then…So That… (referring to the format of the Challenge Statement)
  • Focusing on the Process will mean a Higher Quality Plan
  • Focus on the Why!
  • Got RAR! (referring to the Resource Allocation Review)
  • Honk 4 Continuous Improvement
  • Living into the Process will bring about the Results of the Plan

Living Into Continuous ImprovementLiving Into Continuous Improvement

At the September meeting of the Michigan Continuous Improvement Facilitators Network (MCIFN), attendees were asked to answer the question

“What does it look and sound like to live into continuous improvement?”

As part of our Living Into Continuous Improvement theme for this year, we will be sharing these responses in Continuous Communication throughout this academic year. Some of the responses included the following:

  • Curiosity and questioning
  • Building shared understandings
  • Efficacy in making changes within the system; growth mindset.
  • Discussion around progress monitoring based on outcomes related to goals in order to adjust activities
  • Multiple stakeholders involved in examining, planning, data, progress, etc.
  • Sounds like collaboration, listening to ideas, prioritizing.
