This is a reminder that applications for the second round of the 27b GYO School Staff Grants will close at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.   

All Michigan ISDs, LEAs, and PSAs are encouraged to apply, regardless of past application status. Awards for the remaining $92 million in federal funds are anticipated to be announced by mid- to late November.  

Application instructions can be found on the GYO School Staff Grants website. This website includes an FAQ, a downloadable Word template of the Round 2 application, a video walkthrough of the GEMS/MARS screens, and a recording of the July 25 application webinar.  

In addition, MDE staff are hosting special office hours to support Michigan’s districts with their applications. A list of available office hours and their registration links are available on the GYO School Staff Grants website. Districts may contact the Grow Your Own team at
