MiStrategyBankMiStrategyBank: Summer Curation Efforts

For the past year, many Michigan Department of Education (MDE) offices and Educational Organizations have been curating global improvement level strategies in the MiStrategyBank.

We now have over 300 strategies that are now found within the MiStrategyBank and therefore, are viewable in MICIP. Strategies such as: #GoOpen Michigan Toolkit, 21 Things 4 Students, Code.org, FAME, Math Recovery, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and so much more.

To find MDE Strategies:

  • Within MiStrategyBank use the filter screen to apply a filter on “Improvement” for Type. Remember you have the option to search by a curation group such as MDE, Michigan Assessment Consortium, MiSTEM Network, etc.
  • Within MICIP navigate under the Plan/Manage Strategies link, on the Create Strategy Implementation plan, and click Add Strategy. A pop-up window will appear. Districts will be able to:
    • Search on Title (Note: titles can be found easily by searching first in MiStrategyBank)
    • Browse by Domain (Academic, Non-Academic, and System) and Outcome Tags

In the continuous improvement mindset, please take a few minutes to share your feedback on strategy selection, curation, and training. The more the system is used and information is learned and shared, the more robust and easier the system will become. Your feedback is a valuable part of continuous improvement.

Voices from the FieldVoices From the Field

Voices from the Field is a new feature in MICIP Continuous Communication. Periodically we will suggest a topic to which we will ask CC recipients to respond. In subsequent issues we will publish representative answers.

We hope that this will promote collaboration and communication among MICIP users and will allow us to learn from each other’s experiences.

This month’s topic is: What I Wish I Knew About MICIP Before I Got Started. Follow the link to share your ideas which might be helpful to our colleagues who are new MICIP.

Thank you to those of you who have already shared your experiences! We will share some responses in the next issue of Continuous Communication!
