Last week, we wrapped up our Skills in Sync roundtable series, bringing together participants from 14 counties across the state. Hosted at Alro Steel in Potterville, KRESA Career Connect Campus in Kalamazoo, and Macomb Community College in Warren, these conversations connected educators, administrators and community partners in meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
Insights gathered from these discussions will help shape the forthcoming pilots and playbook.
A sincere thank you to our hosts and to everyone who helped make these events possible. We are grateful for your partnership and are excited to continue this work together.

1. Data & Coordination
LEO is continuing its engagement on the Automotive Workforce Transition Report, connecting with industry partners and stakeholders to gather feedback, validate findings and explore opportunities for collaboration on next steps. These ongoing conversations are helping ensure the report reflects real-world experience and supports actionable strategies.
To hear the latest updates and learn more about this work, join the May Data & Coordination Workgroup meeting on May 20.
2. Training, Curriculum & Career Readiness
At the April Training, Curriculum, and Career Readiness Workgroup meeting, we shared a brief overview of key takeaways from the Skills in Sync roundtables. We are now developing a short report to capture and summarize these insights.
As we move into the next phase of the Skills in Sync project, we are launching a local consortia pilot to test and apply what we have learned. Join us at the May workgroup meeting to hear more about this next step and how to get involved.
If you are interested in joining any of the workgroups referenced above, please contact LEO-MI-Auto-Workforce-Hub@Michigan.gov.
