Join Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! and the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity for a dynamic day of collaboration and conversation focused on strengthening Registered Apprenticeship partnerships across the region.
The morning session will bring together representatives from Michigan Rehabilitation Services and other Registered Apprenticeship Program sponsors for a joint discussion on improving coordination of apprenticeship services between agencies. This working session will focus on aligning resources, strengthening partnerships and identifying opportunities to better support employers and participants through a more coordinated apprenticeship system. In the afternoon, participants will transition into a Race to Talent event, featuring a panel discussion with partners and industry leaders.
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a nationwide celebration where partners – employers, apprentices and graduates, industry representatives, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, educational institutions, and federal, state, and local government agencies and more – host events to showcase the successes and value of Registered Apprenticeship for strengthening our economy by developing a highly skilled workforce to meet industry needs and creating pathways for career seekers to catapult into in-demand jobs.

Feb. 17, 2026: The M3A (Women in Manufacturing Committee) launch focused on leadership, mentorship and youth engagement. The Q2 meeting will feature a panel of women leaders sharing their career journeys and insights.
Feb. 18, 2026: The Detroit Task Force Meeting held at the Carpenters and Millwrights Training Center and hosted by the Detroit City Council drew more than 150 residents seeking information on Registered Apprenticeship Programs and careers in the skilled trades.
