Successful Race to Talent™ events bring together business, labor, education, community and workforce development leaders who contribute to an in-depth discussion around stakeholder benefits from using the Registered Apprenticeship training model to grow needed talent for business success. Event participants contribute by following a structured outline proven to:
- Raise Awareness of the numerous stakeholders benefits the training model provides
- Recognize Partners by introducing those in the region and/or sectors already using the model to accelerate skill development and business success
- Recruit New Partners whose organizations can benefit from using the training model

Come learn more about Registered Apprenticeship and how it might help improve your talent pipeline! Hear from registered apprentices who just completed the GuideStar Computer Support Specialist - Desktop Support Tech Registered Apprenticeship Program, and what their experience was. A panel will also include GuideStar and the Related Technical Instruction provider, the Dickinson Iron Intermediate School District, to explain how they were able to work together to make this program a success. Light hors' d’oeuvres will be served and a graduation ceremony will be held to celebrate the success of the three new journey workers!

November 5, 2025: Employers and apprentices gathered at the Otsego County Library to celebrate a Race to Talent™ event hosted by Michigan Works! Northeast Consortium. Weinkauf Plumbing & Heating, Alcona Health Center and the Center for Competency Development were recognized as Registered Apprenticeship Champions!
November 14, 2025: Michigan Works! Southeast at Washtenaw Community College simplified Registered Apprenticeships for attendees. Experts demystified U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship paperwork and training alignment for IT and manufacturing Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
November 14, 2025: GST Michigan Works! Race to Talent™ event showcased Flint Odyssey House’s Community Health Worker Registered Apprenticeship Program. Attendees gained firsthand insights into building and implementing a Registered Apprenticeship Program by receiving a clear blueprint.
November 17-21, 2025: Ironworkers Local 25 2025 High School Welding Invitational drew in nearly 400 students from 19 schools that showcased their skills and discovered rewarding career pathways within the trade while connecting with hiring employers.
December 3, 2025: The Michigan Golf Course Association Race to Talent™ event in Mt. Pleasant celebrated the golf industry Registered Apprenticeship Program successes and elevated the industry standards through dedicated talent development. Several courses were recognized.
December 3, 2025: Oakland County Michigan Works! hosted a Race to Talent™ event at the Plumbers Local 98 and Mechanical Contractors Association of Detroit. The Oakland County Registered Apprenticeship Guide was released during the event.
December 4, 2025: At the SEMCA Race to Talent™ event, automotive and skilled trades Registered Apprenticeships were explored. Attendees gained insights into state and federal RAP roles, and eight employers were honored with Championship Awards for their leadership in Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
