To: OSMIS Active Users, MWA Directors and MWA General List
Thank you to those who joined our IMPACT Overview workshop session at this week’s Michigan Works! Annual Conference.
Project Timeline
LEO’s Office of Employment and Training is moving the planned released date for IMPACT from April 7, 2025 to October 6, 2025. This move is based on the complexity of this project and ensuring OSMIS data is mapped into the IMPACT structure completely and accurately.
We want to ensure end users are confident in IMPACT’s ability to meet their case management needs for all Workforce Development programs. Moving IMPACT’s launch date lengthens the time for testing and training after all development activities are complete.
Critical system changes to OSMIS will continue to be completed until go-live, as well as overall maintenance.
IMPACT Features
In case you missed it, or would like a recap of what was shared, please see the information below on IMPACT features that will support case management activities. Many of these were detailed as part of the presentation – with some additional ones highlighted below. While we are not providing the official presentation from the workshop, additional opportunities to see the features demonstrated will be communicated through future IMPACT updates.
Accessing Other Systems – IMPACT offers quick access to other applicable LEO-E&T systems for users; including Michigan Training Connect, Pathfinder, the Program and Policy Guidance database and Pure Michigan Talent Connect.
Customer Case View – All IMPACT users will be able to check out a customer’s participation information in one spot.
Customer Profile Creation – One customer profile in IMPACT will be applicable to all programs and available statewide, reducing duplicative data entry.
Customer Search – Search for customers, staff users, employers and training providers more easily than ever before. Search can be done from any screen in IMPACT, with multiple filtering functionalities at your fingertips.
Document Upload – Duplicative work is eliminated in IMPACT as the documents uploaded by one agency can be used statewide.
Program Integration – There will be 19 federal and state programs included in IMPACT and future state and local programs can be easily added to the system by LEO-E&T directly.
Quarterly Follow-Up Surveys – Case managers will get notifications within IMPACT before a customer’s follow-up survey is due. This proactive functionality will help manage workloads. The results of quarterly follow-up surveys are recorded towards performance measures.
Reports & Queries – IMPACT simplifies this process and allows for reports and custom queries to be generated within the system itself. Drag-and-drop functionality streamlines the reporting experience and ensures all users can obtain what they need.
Next Steps
There were many great questions asked during the workshop session. These, and other questions, will help us populate a Frequently Asked Questions resource we will make available to you. Look for that to be included as part of our October message.
We look forward to providing you with the latest updates on the IMPACT project on a regular basis.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please reach out to LEO-MIS@michigan.gov.
