Michigan Career & Technical Institute Times
To help alleviate serving our customers through Career Assessment Services, we will run three groups of CAS students during each term starting with the fall term.
- Each group will consist of no more than 20 students (fewer to start as we get used to the format)
- Each group will last for 3 weeks total
- Week 1: Virtual intakes, pre-MCTI readiness groups, preparation for coming to CAS in person
- Week 2: On Campus CAS – This will follow a format similar to what we have done for the one-week CAS sessions the last two times
- Week 3: Virtual follow-up and trade determination, meetings with students, parents, and MRS counselors
The on-campus week will include a trade tour and hands-on experiences.
- Students will be brought to the trades rather than instructors coming to present.
- Hands-on experiences should be similar to those run during the current one-week CAS. Advanced students in the trades can assist as appropriate with instructor approval.
Fall Term: All sessions are currently full, please refer for Winter Term
July 10 – On Campus July 17 through July 21 (ends July 28) July 3 – On Campus August 7 through August 11 (ends Aug. 18) August 21 – On Campus August 28 through September 1 (ends Sept. 8)

We are open for Tours!
Our new tour format is self-guided. This allows interested students and their families to tour all of our programs, check out a dormitory room, walk the campus and explore what MCTI has to offer.
Our instructors are present to answer any questions and provide information about the trades.
Contact the front desk at (877) 901-7360 for a schedule of upcoming tour days and to sign up.

Study Skills for the WIN!
Each MCTI student has the opportunity to take advantage of study skills sessions outside the classroom. Every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Student Center, MCTI is offering designated time for students to catch up on missing assignments, complete class-work, learn skills to improve time management and effective studying, and receive coaching on how to stay up-to-date on classwork.

Student Government meets monthly to make decisions and discuss issues that impact student life on campus. Recently, student government elected to provide water bottles to students, encouraging the use of water bottle filling stations and helping reduce our carbon footprint.
They also voted and approved the purchase of gift cards for students without debit cards for laundry. Furthermore, they encourage all students to volunteer in the community and sponsors volunteer events.
This June students volunteered by cleaning up trash along the highway near campus.

MCTI hallway clocks were being reset unintentionally due to exposed buttons being hit by the dusting poles. Eager to use their skills, Industrial Electronics students Nathan (pictured left) and Ethan (pictured right) invented and printed a device to attach to the clocks to help fix the issue.
Nathan and Ethan designed covers to attach over the clocks' buttons and used the 3D printer to create the product, protecting the clock buttons from being struck.
