Updated Military Service Questionnaire (MSQ)
within the Employment Service (ES) Manual
To: MWA Directors, MWA General List, and WD Staff
The Employment Service (ES) Manual contains an updated Military Service Questionnaire (MSQ). The new MSQ -Veteran form eliminates the need for the MSQ – Spouse or Caregiver form.
Changes to the MSQ-Veteran form include:
- A single fillable or printable PDF form that also allows for uploading online systems.
- Section changes:
- 2A: Expanded programmatic qualifiers with an embedded link to the campaign medal and badges definitions.
- 2B: Clarified programmatic qualifiers.
- 2C: Inclusion of VA spouse or caregiver identification.
- The inclusion of Additional Note and Comments with embedded links for clarification.
- Definition of active duty
- Reference for low income
- Definition of Transitioning Service Member
- Definition of spouse or caregiver
These updates are intended to expedite workflow by eliminating the need for multiple forms and simplifying the process for ES staff and veteran clients.
